It's funny that all the pundits wanted to put the Pens in the Finals after their start. Back to reality! Really nice to see the sad sack Flyers ahead of you in the standings!

Not a single person who comments here was putting them in the finals this season, not before it started or after the first 5 games. "after their start"?.. This is still the start haha. Funny that you're in here posting this when it's still October.

Rangers, Bolts and Leafs arnt looking like most expected... yet, anyway... It is only October haha. I think those three teams have a bit of a higher ceiling than Pens this season.

Wasn't talking about anyone here. The pundits I was referring to were on the NHL Network and the Sirius/XM NHL station. They're always gushing about the Pens for some reason while I think the Pens window has basically closed barring a miracle and them staying completely healthy which probably isn't likely given the age of their stars.

Yes, I'm sure that's gonna hold up as the season goes along.

It's true, a lot would have to go right for them to make finals again and probably the biggest factor would be health/injury luck. This gets harder and harder the older the impactful players get. It's not impossible for them to go far but highly improbable.

Nah. Yeah it’s easier to win with the talent in your lineup. But you can change your approach and compete with anyone.

The only good thing about this trip for me is that with the games being on so late, I am not missing much when I fall asleep watching them .

"Pundits" are paid to over-hype and over-react. That's a mandatory job requirement for all media the last 30+ years.

Smith needs called up. If Letang is going to struggle this much we need another offensive threat from the back end. I haven’t been able to watch these road games. But it seems like we are sinking when letang struggles and our depth at forward is pathetic.

Dumo is either last or 2nd last in every underlying metric at 5 on 5 out of the D corps so far this very early season...not overly optimistic that can turn around...Letang isnt far off it, himself, but how much is because of Dumo? That pairing is one of the bigger factors in this little slump. They both lead team in 5 on 5 giveaways, at 5 a piece, but Letang has a had a few really bad ones on PP as well that ended up stinging.

Dumo should be getting 3rd pair and PK mins....but who goes 1st pair LD in his place?...

Dumo is responsible for almost all of Letang's struggles. Dumo is a fringe NHLer 6/7D at this point in his career.
